NDP Honors Choir Takes GCU

Yesterday, several members of the NDP Honors Choir loaded up into a white NDP bus and went out to GCU. We were introduced to Grand Canyon University’s Recording Studio (which is beautiful!) and spent just over two and a half hours recording.

We will have takes of “Mary, Did You Know” from their Winter Fine Arts Festival, “Do Not Stand At My Grave and Cry”, which they earned a Superior Rating for at the AZMEA Solo & Ensemble Competition, and “For Good” from their Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust Concert this spring. Anna, NDP Senior, recorded her own take of “Someone To Watch Over Me”, Rebecca, NDP Sophomore, sang new Broadway “Home Away from Home”, and Jia, NDP Junior, recorded an original composition of her own.

After the recording session, the students took a quick (and hot!) tour of GCU’s beautiful campus, including but not limited to the huge freshman dorm rooms! GCU fed the choir Chick-fil-A before we headed back to Notre Dame. Other fun moments included harmonizing on the bus to and from GCU. It was a great field trip! A huge thank you to GCU’s staff and NDP’s amazing accompanist, Sally Kang, for making it that way.
